Geez, aint he purty This
picture was taken in 1993 while a Member of Scientific
Staff at Nortel's R&D subsidiary Bell Northern
Research when we stood up our first web server. BNR had
"no cameras on-site" policy but I wanted to set
up a "directory" web site that had employee's
contact and SME information as well as a picture. I went
to the security desk and asked how I could get camera for
such and they said "well here's one" and had one
of those polaroid cameras that pops out a picture you
watch develop. They took a picture of me and handed to me.
I took it to a graphics artist in our department and asked
if she could "crop it" (get rid of outer
border). She said "I can make flames blow out yer
ears", and proceeded to do so. That picture is her
              handiwork, I use it often.

The above picture was taken in 1993 and used on one of my first web pages created while I was a Member of Scientific Staff at Nortel's R&D subsidiary Bell Northern Research (BNR) when we stood up our first web server. BNR had a "no cameras on-site" policy but I wanted to set up a "directory" web site that had employee's contact and SME information as well as a picture. I went to the security desk and asked how I could get camera for such and they said "well here's one" which was one of those Polaroid Land cameras that pops out a picture you can watch develop. They took a picture of me and handed to me. I took it to a graphics artist in our department and asked if she could "crop it" (get rid of outer border). She said "I can make flames blow out yer ears", and proceeded to scan/edit and do so. That picture is her handiwork, I use it often (wish I could remember her name).
